North Shropshire College (NSC) is set to provide a unique opportunity for young explorers and their parents in the form of the new Walford Wood Forest School.

The school will offer children and their parents a wealth of activities from playing in the mud kitchen and digging for dinosaurs, to making exciting crafts in the surrounding woodland areas, all under the supervision of highly qualified practitioners.

Parents will also be able to book a two-hour weekly session for six weeks at £45 or will be able to opt for a pay as you go tariff of £8 per session. The Forest School was opened officially on March 25 at NSC’s popular Spring Lambing event and has already proven to be a hit with parents and children alike.

April Harding, childcare tutor at NSC, who is also the lead for the new Forest School, said: “We are very pleased to be offering such a wide range of activities. The Forest School will provide a wonderful opportunity for parents and their children to experience the countryside, and in particular, the wonderful settings around our Walford Campus, whilst learning new skills in an enjoyable and relaxed environment.”
