Musicians at Moreton Hall are continuing the hit the high notes with many gaining Distinctions in their recent London College Musical Theatre examinations.

Maya Falah and Olivia Murton achieved Grade 5, with Jemima Davenport achieving Grade 6, and Georgina Lang, Sorcha Farnan and Kitty Davenport all attaining Grade 8 with flying colours.

Moreton’s Director of Music, H. Rayner, commented: “We are thrilled by these exceptional results. They are thoroughly deserved and a testament to the commitment for the girls we have the pleasure of working with at Moreton.”

The achievements come off the back of the hugely successful 'Last Night of the Proms' Gala Concert which took place at Moreton Hall on Saturday, March 17.

The evening was not only the chance to listen to Moreton's prizewinners from the Oswestry Festival but to see and hear the work of the North Shropshire Schools' Orchestra with pupils from around the area joining Moreton Hall for a musical feast.

In keeping with the 'Last Night of the Proms' theme, the massed choirs and North Shropshire Schools' orchestra closed the evening with a rousing rendition of 'Rule Britannia', with Morgan-Darcy Rees Deacon, the overall winner the Oswestry Music Festival, in full Union Jack costume.
