A man from Oswestry is operating a new venture that works with three local car dealerships.

For 17 years, Brian Lamb was a smart repair technician.

He then spent a year as a vehicle sales consultant, but ‘smart repairs’ were in his blood.

Now, he is back doing the job he has loved since the year 2000.

He is operating a new venture, Arthurs Smart Repair Solutions, on behalf of three dealerships, Arthurs Vauxhall of Oswestry and Newtown and Arthurs Peugeot of Wrexham.

He spends a day a week at the award-winning dealerships and will also visit customers at their home or workplace. There are also times that he can carry out smart repairs when a car or van is in one of the dealership’s workshops for a service.

Operating out of a Peugeot Boxer van, which is his mobile workshop, Brian uses his skills and experience to improve the look of a vehicle, whether that is removing a dent, a blemish, a scuff, a scratch or an alloy wheel refurbishment. His service also includes paintwork.

Said Brian, 51, who is from Morda near Oswestry: “Although I enjoyed my year out, spent as a sales consultant at Arthurs Peugeot Wrexham, I was delighted to be given the opportunity to return to the smart repair business which I have been in since 2000.

“I appreciate the opportunity Arthurs has provided for me to return to my background and utilise my skills, experience and versatility in the smart repair sector of the motor industry.”

William Edwards, general sales manager at Arthurs of Oswestry, said: “Brian is fully trained with a first-class reputation in his field and as a dealership this gives us and our customers greater flexibility.

“It also means we are able to provide a more rounded service and increase our offering to customers who don’t have to take their car to a bodyshop which is more expensive than the service Brian can provide.

“He takes his referrals from the Arthurs dealerships and can fit in with customers’ requirements as to when and where are most convenient to carry out repairs.”
