Peter Best's home would be just 13 metres away from the MUGA if it goes ahead, and he is spearheading a campaign to stop it being built.
Some residents living in the vicinity of the playing fields, where the MUGA is proposed, fear it will be a hub
of anti-social behaviour which will have a detrimental effect on the value of their homes.
A petition has yielded 38 signatories and Peter says he could easily name 20 other residents who want to stop the MUGA being built.
He said: "The parish council seems to be totally oblivious to the outside world on this one.
"Don't get me wrong, they do a good job as a council but this is supposed to be a democracy, yet we seem to be being ignored."
At a meeting of Gobowen and Selattyn Parish Council last Wednesday, May 7, residents opposing the plans yet again turned out to voice their concerns, but Peter says he was not allowed to speak.
He also feels the consultation held in the project's initial stages was not thorough or inclusive enough to meet the funding criteria of the Big Lottery Fund, which has earmarked £63,000 for the sports and play facility.
