WREXHAM County Borough Councillor, Ian Roberts, gave Chirk Town Council his assurances over the future of the old housing estate offices last week.
At the annual meeting of the town council, Cllr Roberts told members that both the borough council and the town council have done great work in the past 12 months to prevent the offices from being sold off.

Responding to questioning from town councillor Christine Ashford, who has now left the council but will continue to work on the project to retain the offices, Cllr Roberts said that the most important thing was that although the offices have not yet been secured for community use, the project has not taken any steps back.

The County Borough Councillor said that had it not been for the hard work put in by him and his colleagues, the offices might have already been sold off.
