CONGESTION caused by the car boot sale at the Ley Farm, Chirk, has forced police to take action.
Community Beat Manager PC Danny Cullen recently reported that he has received several complaints about traffic congestion caused by the car boot sale on Sundays.

Working with Highways officers, Fire Service and the site owner, the policing team has managed to relieve the congestion by creating a one-way traffic flow to and from the site.

Police will monitor the arrangement to see if the situation improves and remedies the problem, but are aware that the creation of the one-way system has led to congestion within Chirk itself, specifically in the Chirk Green, Bronywaun and Chapel Lane areas.

At a recent meeting of Chirk Town Council, Councillor Claire Gough told the CBM that the changes to the traffic flow had left her stuck in the resulting traffic caused by the one-way system for 50 minutes.
