Graham Evans has returned to Caersws

CAERSWS have swooped to bring terrace hero and all time top goalscorer Graham Evans back to the Recreation Ground.

Evans returned to his home village club on Friday after a two year spell with Aberystwyth Town and will join the squad which will take on Rhydymwyn on Saturday.

Evans spent over a decade at the Recreation Ground where he scored over 200 goals in all competitions and won the welsh Premier golden boot three times in the process.

Evans - son of manager Mickey - scored the club's only European goal - as well starring in three League Cup wins.

Along with Aberystwyth the prolific marksman has also featured for Aston Villa, Hereford and TNS after making his debut for the club in 1995 when he became the top flight's youngest ever scorer.

His goalscoring saw him a regular in the Welsh semi-professional team and the 30-year is still the record cap and goalscoring holder.

The arrival of Evans further boosts the Bluebirds attacking options with Richie Evans and Neil Mitchell added to the front line in the summer.

Assistant manager Hugh Clarke said: "It is great to welcome Graham back to Caersws, it's where it all began for him and I am sure he will prove just as big a player upon his return.

"His record speaks for itself and has scored goals his entire career.

"We are getting back to the days when Caersws had the best team of local lads in the area and Graham's return shows our ambition."
