A PUB manager from Oswestry is planning to make the leap of his life by completing a charity parachute jump.
Ross Macpherson, manager of both the Smithfield and Bull Ring pubs, is taking the plunge on October 8, and has so far raised over £350 for local charity, Hope House.
He said: "I got roped into doing it by our head chef, who collared me one morning before I'd had some coffee and the chance to realise what I was agreeing to. Next thing I knew, I was filling in forms and deciding which charity to jump for."

Phenomenal work.
The uncle of four said he chose Hope House after seeing the work they did for terminally ill children and because of its locality to the town.
"I think they do phenomenal work and as an uncle, I can appreciate the care they give to the children there," he said.
"We can see the Hope House shop from the pubs and I think if you are going to be doing something like this, you should help a local charity."

Nervous.
In the build up to the big event at Tilstock Airfield, in Prees, Ross admitted that he feels extremely nervous.
"I will just have to put my fears aside and keep my fingers crossed."
He added: "I'm the sort of person who goes on a rollercoaster and takes my glasses off so I can't see.
"But this is one of those once in a lifetime experiences, so I will keep them on."
Ross is also funding the £200 jump himself, so that all of the donations he receives go to the charity.
He said: "I'm pleased with how much I have raised so far, but if people would like to increase that amount and help a fantastic local charity, I would be very grateful."
