THE NEW Saints have it all to do in the second leg of their Europa League play-off against Bulgarians,CSKA Sofia on Thursday night.
TNS trail 3-0 in the tie after CSKA broke loose in the last ten minutes of the opening leg in Sofia last week, to leave Saints fans heartbroken after their side had matched the team currently in turmoil following the departure of their fifth manager in two years.
Dimitar Penev walked out on the club just three days before his side faced the Welsh Premier League Champions in their first encounter, with the club having gained just one point from their opening three league games.
Now, stand-in coach, Gjore Jovanovski, will bring his unsettled players to The Racecourse, Wrexham, in a bid to kill off the tie and make it through to the group stages of the competition where the likes of Juventus, Liverpool, and Paris St Germain could be waiting for them.
All to play for.
The Saints have proved, however, that no matter what the scoreline they can never be written off, something that Anderlecht manager, Ariel Jacobs, was keen to stress after his side struggled to quell Saints' passions in their Champions League encounters earlier this month.
TNS now have it all to play for and nothing to lose and will no doubt be going full tilt in a last ditch attempt to make it to the group stages of a European competition for the first time in their history.
Lowest ranked.
With a fully fit squad to choose from, manager Mike Davies will be hoping his players can get an early goal to rattle the opposition and set them up for what would surely be one of European football's greatest comebacks.
The Saints are the lowest ranked side still in the competition, but if heart and desire were the guidelines by which teams are measured then their performances so far this season would have them ranked right up there with the best.
The players are hoping they will receive plenty of support in Wrexham to help provide a daunting atmosphere for the travelling Bulgarians, and in turn will hope to provide an upset and give fans one of the great nights in the history of European Football.
Kick off is at 7.30pm
