THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD  Oswestry Olympians athlete Adele Nicoll continues to dominate the Under 15 Girls Shot in her first year in the event.

At the beginning of the season, Adele had a number of minor injuries which prevented her from competing in the Welsh Combined Events Championships and from any track events all season. She tentatively continued throwing, winning the Shot at the Welsh Championships in Cardiff with a putt of 11.99m and finishing second in the discus and javelin throwing 30.42m and 27.63m respectively.

She followed this up by winning gold in the Shot with a Championship best performance of 12.62m and a silver medal in the discus throwing 32.26m at the Welsh Schools Championships in Brecon.

She was subsequently selected for the Welsh Schools U16's team to compete in Glasgow at the Aviva SIAB International Track and Field competition against the other home nations' top school athletes and finished third  in the shot with a putt of 11.19m.

She then  travelled to Dublin to represent Wales against Scotland and Ireland at the Celtic Games and won the U16's Shot with  a new personal best of  13.12m, ranking her number one in the UK in her age group.
