ST MARTINS were the 36th winners of the Graham Edwards soccer tournament on Sunday, beating The New Saints XI 3-1 in an entertaining final at The Venue.
Playing their fifth game in nine days, they took the lead in the 33rd minute when Lunt seized on a rebound off Saints keeper Alex Ramsay to fire home from 12 yards.
Guy Guilford scored a second on the stroke of half time after a mistake by Tom Roberts.
Saints gave themselves hope early in the second half when John McKenna fired into the left hand corner from the edge of the box only for St. Martins to restore their two goal lead on the hour when Jack Harris sent a 25-yarder inside Ramsay's right hand post.
St Martins had reached the final with an emphatic 7-0 thrashing of Oswestry Town Lions with Lunt grabbing a hat-trick to add to goals by Paul Kilvert, Josh Jones,Ian Heathcock and an own goal.
TNS progressed by virtue of a 2-0 semi-final win over Oswestry Bell with goals from Alwyn Williams and Alex Gunn.The amount raised for Leukaemia Research will be announced in due course.
