WHAT caused an Oswestry businessman to kill his wife and daughter could be revealed at a two-day inquest being held in Shrewsbury in September.

Dates for the inquest into the deaths of Hugh McFall, his wife, Susan, and 18-year-old daughter, Frankie, have been set for September 1 and 2 at the magistrates court in the county town.

The bodies of Mrs McFall and Frankie were found at their dormer bungalow home in Hampton Road, Oswestry on February 5 after suffering severe head injuries.

Found hanged

Mr McFall, who ran a wholesale florist business, Growing Places, was found hanged later the same morning at a lock-up he rented at St Martins.

Inquiries have centred upon Mr McFall's business dealings and in particular reports that he was in financial difficulties after losing a contract with a major outlet.

The inquests will be conducted by Mid and North West Shropshire Coroner, Mr John Ellery.
