ON Saturday, August 7, Oswestry and District Agricultural Society will celebrate the 125th anniversary of Oswestry Show at the Park Hall Showground.
The event which is one of the highlights in the local calendar, promises to be a really special day out with many additions, including a welcome return of the Diggerland Dancing Diggers. The ever increasing popular one-day event attracts around 15,000 visitors, with people from both sides of the Welsh/English border coming together to enjoy the many attractions the show has on offer.
Main Ring Entertainment
To celebrate the great milestone of 125 shows, organisers have invited the Diggerland JCB Stunt Team to return to perform in the main ring. The team of five giant diggers, a mini Bobcat loader and the fastest JCB, the Landshuttle, operated by a hand-picked stunt team from H.E. Services, the largest digger hire company in Europe, will entertain the crowds with a programme of daredevil stunts and formation digger dancing, intermingled with lots of comedy.
The Whitchurch Dog Display Team, with their 30 handlers and dogs will provide a routine of agility work with run relays rounded off with a grand finale fire run and the Tanatside Hunt will also be parading their ever popular hounds. The society is always grateful to the many local businesses that sponsor the show, in particular, this year, ABP Hordley who have contributed to the cost of the main ring entertainment.
