WREXHAM town centre came alive with colour and music as scores of youngsters took part in a mardi gras-style parade.

The crowd-pulling event on Wednesday was part of this year’s Wrexham Arts Festival.

Along with members of their families, the young people had all spent days working with artists on an array of spectacular costumes on the theme of Wrexham and

Europe before taking to the streets to show off their handiwork.

A series of workshops had been held throughout the previous week at which costumes and decorations, including five massive heads, were created.

The parade started from Oriel Wrecsam before heading though the town centre.
