VIDEO: YouTube's top 10 lucky escapes
AFTER a man in Flintshire walked away from a 100mph crash we look at 10 of the most startling lucky escapes caught on film, from a baby being run over by a train to an astonishing zebra crossing near-miss.
A motorcyclist powers his way around a track until he loses control and falls off his bike.
The safety barrier stops his tumble and the now riderless machine follows his path into the barrier, smashing to pieces just inches from his head.
This CCTV footage from Russia will make you think twice about crossing the road without looking both ways. A man quickly skips along a zebra crossing in front of waiting traffic, but a bus hasn't seen the queue and doesn't slow down...
A man has a lucky escape as he is swept underneath a truck which is hit by a train.
His hard hat is sent flying, but somehow he survives.
Irish Rally Driver Bertie Fisher has a lucky escape in the 1986 Galway Rally in the Manta 400.
Approaching a sharp right-hand corner at about 120mph, his brakes fail. How no spectators were hit during this incredible sequence is hard to fathom.
A couple avoid being wiped out by a high-speed train by a split second.
A daydreaming man wanders blindly into the path of a skidding bus.
A young woman takes her eye off her pram at a train station. When she turns back the pram is gone, and she watches helplessly as it hits the tracks and vanishes under a slowing train. Incredibly, the baby survived with just a bump to the head.
Another rally incident: a spectator ambles in front of a speeding car, then watches it brush his coat and go by him as if nothing were there. Another step and he would surely have been killed.
An out-of-control car almost wipes out two incredibly lucky passengers who just manage to spot the vehicle in time and save their lives.
It's like something out of a cartoon: a driver doesn't stop at an intersection in America and somehow weaves his way between onrushing traffic.
