A YOUNG Wrexham musician set to release his second EP says this time the recording captures the essence of his live sound.
Danny Gruff, from Pendine Park, Wrexham, says Homegrown will feature eight new recordings and three live tracks, all written and produced by himself.
He said: “I have taken criticism from the first EP to help me make this one better.
“The first was criticised for not sounding like I do live. So this EP includes minimal overdubs, most of it is just one acoustic and one vocal. I feel like I’ve found my sound, so all the tracks on the EP work really well next to each other.”
There are a couple of new recordings of songs taken from the last EP, including Amsterdam and Last of the Big Time Small Town Lads.
Also on there are new recordings of live favourites, including Homegrown, Growing Up and Time Wasted and even a track from Danny’s days with his old band, The Rigbys.
Danny will be releasing the EP on January 30 in the Swan in Pen-y-Bryn. Entry is free and the EP will cost £3.
“I decided to make this EP launch free entry, as people paid for the first one. It’s only fair to have a free gig to launch the second EP.”
Danny will also be playing with his band on February 8 at Central Station supporting The King Blues.
Tickets are priced at £8.50. To get a reduction contact Danny through myspace.com/dannygruff.
