THE axe fell on around 40 workers at an Oswestry plant hire company last week after their firm went into administration.
Incasep Limited, which trades as Greyhound Plant Services in Knockin was continuing to do business last week after it called in rescue, recovery and restructuring specialists, Begbies Traynor.
The plant hire firm is reported to have run into financial difficulties because of the slump in the construction industry and has faced difficulties meeting tax demands.
Protect
Begbies Traynor, joint administrators for Incasep Ltd., has insisted that its aim is to protect as many jobs as possible at the family-run firm which was established 27 years ago and employs around 200 people.
The administrator says it will attempt to sell the business as a going concern.
Greyhound Plant Services, which has a fleet of approximately 450 machines, has been involved in projects across the county, in Oswestry and in Mid-Wales.
Begbies Traynor says it is keeping Greyhound’s creditors informed of the situation.
