A CHIRK man who was too "legless" to remember attacking another man in a night club walked free from court last week.
Victim Lee James Evans, 19, was attacked for no reason in Wrexham's Liquid night club last September where he was knocked to the floor and kicked 'with full force' to the face.

Last Thursday, May 8, his attacker walked free after he admitted an assault charge.

Defendant Luke Williams, 22, of Pen y Waen, Castle Road in Chirk, received a six-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.

Williams - who said he was "absolutely legless" with no recollection of the unprovoked attack on September 16 last year - was ordered to pay his victim £1,000 compensation, together with £180 costs to the prosecution.

Judge John Rogers QC also ordered him to follow an alcohol course run by the probation service.

Sentencing Williams, Judge Rogers told him: "You might well have caused very serious, if not fatal, injuries to this 18-year-old.

"I want you to understand this - you have come within a hair's breadth of serving a prison sentence," he warned.
