Parts of Powys are set to be as hot as Ibiza this weekend, according to Met Office forecasts.
Several towns in Powys, including both Newtown and Welshpool, have been forecast to reach temperatures as high as 22C on Saturday, May 11.
And that means people in the Powys towns will be enjoying the same scorching sunshine as sun-seekers on the beaches of the Meditteranean island of Ibiza, with the Met Office also forecasting a 22C heat for the Spanish party hotspot.
Those Mid Wales temperatures are just shy of the UK’s hottest day of 2024 so far, which peaked at 23C in Suffolk on April 30.

Temperatures are expected to climb throughout the rest of the week in Powys, hitting 20C on Thursday, 21C on Friday before reaching new height for the year on Saturday and Sunday.
While the temperature will remain the same on Sunday, the Met Office is predicting that the sunny climate should be changing to slightly more cloudy by lunchtime.
Temperatures are predicted to return back closer to normal for May the following week, dropping to 18C by Monday, May 13.
