Oswestry Town Council is inviting companies to come forward to bid for the contract of improvements to Powis Market Hall.

Having seen several enhancements, such as external decoration and branding - funded by the UK Government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), it's now looking to progress.

The council particularly seeks a multi-disciplinary team which is led by a suitably qualified architect, and/or companies with civil and structural engineering expertise and knowledge around space planning to further upgrade the market.

Key improvements within the contract's scope include groundwork to enhance accessibility and entrances, heritage LED lighting installation, internal flooring improvements, lighting and decoration improvements, and a new heritage clock installation.

The appointed contractor will support the council from the appraisal of options stage right through to delivery.

This process will involve design, practical recommendations, and fully costed solutions.

The Council has set the expected project start date for June 2024, with completion slated for mid-February 2025.

All interested organisations are expected to submit their applications by 12noon on May 31, 2024.

Detailed tender packs can be requested by contacting the council via email at enquiries@oswestry-tc.gov.uk.
