SHROPSHIRE firefighters were called out to an incident in North Wales on Thursday morning – which turned out to be a controlled burn.
One crew from Oswestry was sent to ETC Sawmills on the Gledrid Industrial Estate close to Chirk shortly before 10.10am.
However, when they arrived at the scene, firefighters found the fire was being watched by staff.
A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) spokesman said: “There were reports of a fire in the open which proved to be a controlled burn with staff on site monitoring.”
A stop message was sent to SFRS control at 10.37am to confirm no further assistance was required.
