A primary school in Powys but near Oswestry could have its closure rubber stamped by Powys Council next week.
Llangedwyn Primary School could close its doors later this year if given the go-ahead by cabinet next week.
This comes after a consultation period following the council publishing statutory notice formally proposing the closure last month.
The proposed closure would see pupils at the school being transferred to Llanfechain C. in W. School.

The council have confirmed that during the notice period they received 16 objections form the public to the closure.
Cllr Pete Roberts, Cabinet Member for a Learning Powys, said: “After carefully considering the objections, the recommendation that Cabinet will be considering will be to approve the proposal to close Llangedwyn Church in Wales School
“The proposal would address the issue of low numbers at Llangedwyn Church in Wales Primary School and would also reduce the council’s overall surplus capacity in primary schools.”
The final decision will be made by Powys County cabinet on Tuesday next week (February 27).
The cabinet will receive and consider the objection report. They will then have to decide whether to approve the proposal to close Llangedwyn Church in Wales School from August 31.
