STAFF and pupils at an Oswestry school are celebrating after its Ofsted rating was lifted from ‘needs improvement’ to ‘Good’ at its most recent inspection.

Holy Trinity Church of England Primary Academy in Middleton Road, was inspected in November 2023 and received ‘Good’ in all aspects, following a previous inspection in 2020 that left the school requiring improvement.

The school is part of St Chad's Academies Trust and according to its management, it has been upgraded since the last inspection in 2020.

Inspectors praised the academy for its core value of 'hope' being at the heart of the curriculum, stating that; 'pupils love coming to Holy Trinity.'

OTHER NEWS:

Executive principal, Laura Hopley, admitted she was delighted with the school’s inspection rating.

She said: “We are extremely proud of the inspection result, which is a result of the continued hard work and dedication of both colleagues, students, and the Trust alike.

“We all pride ourselves in providing our children with the very best opportunities for learning, and memories that will last a lifetime.”

The report highlighted pupils’ enjoyment at the school.

It said: “Pupils love coming to Holy Trinity school.

“They are happy, confident, and kind to each other. They enjoy all the extra responsibilities that the school creates for them.

“These responsibilities include acting as reading buddies and worship leads. Pupils learn how to make the right choices, so that they can keep themselves safe outside of school. They know what bullying is.

“The school is vigilant in spotting any signs of bullying and takes swift action if it happens. As a result, this school is a calm and supportive place, where pupils enjoy learning. The school value of ‘hope’ is at the heart of everything this school does.

“The curriculum ensures pupils develop a strong sense of what hope might mean.

“For example, pupils say, ‘They hope to do well in school and hope for everyone to be safe.’
