Oswestry TV guru Jesse Armstrong has landed another haul of accolades as Succession was named the best TV drama series at the Golden Globes.
The programme, about a power struggle between siblings vying to take over the family's multi-billion dollar media conglomerate, was among the big winners at the 81st ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
Best female actor in a TV series drama went to Australian actress Sarah Snook – who said the show had changed her life, while her co-stars Kieran Culkin and Matthew Macfadyen were also among the winners in the TV categories for best actor and best supporting actor in a TV series drama respectively.
Culkin said: “I was nominated for a Golden Globe like 20 years ago and when that moment passed, I sort of remember thinking I’m never going to be back in this room again.
“But thanks to Succession I’ve been in here a couple of times, I accepted I would never be on the stage so this is a nice moment.”

The programme has already received a glut of awards, with dozens of Emmy Awards already on the creators' mantelpiece.
Armstrong, who was raised in Oswestry and was also behind the hit UK sitcom Peep Show along with co-writer Sam Bain.
In the run-up to the Oscars, another British-backed production won several accolades.

Oppenheimer, about the creator of the atomic bomb, scored five major awards during the ceremony.
British film-maker Christopher Nolan was named best director for the first time after six nominations, while Irish actor Cillian Murphy took home best actor in a drama for his work as the father of the atomic bomb.
Oppenheimer was also named best drama motion picture, which saw Nolan’s wife Emma Thomas serve as producer, and best supporting actor went to Robert Downey Jr for his role in the thriller – which also stars British actresses Emily Blunt and Florence Pugh.
