THE Oswestry house that has brought the most joy to passers-by with its Christmas decorations has been announced.

Oswestry in Bloom chairman Natalie Bainbridge, joined by town mayor Councillor Olly Rose, visited the home of Donna Davies to award her the ‘Oswestry in Lights’ award for 2023.

Donna and her family were visited by Natalie and Cllr Rose to be presented with a gift voucher from Andy Vaughan, of Highline Electrical Ltd, on Thursday, December 21.

A spokesman for the competition said: “What a difficult time Oswestry In Bloom had in selecting the winner of “Oswestry In Lights”.

“So many beautifully decorated houses, and all so different – but a winner had to be decided.

“The displays were judged by their wow factor, creativity, effort and how much it said Christmas.

“As it is all about bringing joy to friends and neighbours the number of people contacting In Bloom to nominate was also added into the mix.”

Natalie added that she was delighted to be able to visit many houses to judge the entries and was thankful that Oswestry in Bloom’s work can carry on all year round.

She added that the Christmas decorations have kept the town’s award-winning beauty up.
