Emergency services were called after a car was left abandoned after crashing into a road sign near the north Shropshire border.
Police, Fire and Ambulance crews were called from either side of the border after a 4x4 vehicle crashed into a road sign just outside Llanymynech.
A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue said: “At 5.41pm on Tuesday, December 12, the Welshpool and Llanfyllin crews were called to an incident along the B4393 near Llanymynech.
“Crews responded to a road traffic collision involving one 4x4 vehicle that had collided with a road sign."

However when emergency teams go to the scene the driver was nowhere to be found.
The spokesperson for the fire service added: “No occupants of the vehicle were present at the scene, crew members assisted Police personnel to conduct a search of the area using thermal imaging cameras.
“No further vehicles could be located and no further action was required by emergency services personnel.”
A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police added that they had been called to the scene but that “no injuries were reported”.
This also led to the Welsh Ambulance Service which had been alerted to be stood down.
It is unclear as to what has happened to the driver at this time.
