OSWESTRY Film Society set to bring tribute to Nelson Mandela with special show at the town's cinema to mark 10 years since he died aged 95.

The group has announced that tomorrow (Tuesday, December 5) a film showing of Mandela: The Long Walk To Freedom, will take place at Kinokulture, in Arthur Street from 7.30pm.

A film society spokesperson said: “We have a special treat at Tuesday night's Oswestry Film Society showing of Mandela: The Long Walk To Freedom.

OTHER NEWS:

“It'll be 10 years to the day since the great man passed away, and a brief performance by the Oswestry In Harmony Choir will introduce the film.”

The movie looks into Mandela’s early life, his education and the 27 years he spent in prison.

The showing will display the activist and anti-apartheid leader refusing to take a vengeful path but instead looking for peace, as he was then elected as his country's president in the first all-race elections.

Tickets can be found on the Oswestry Film Society website.
