An exciting programme of events is returning to Chirk Castle this summer - and even 'The King' will be making an appearance.

Following the success of their sold-out Mamma Mia tour last year, Adventure Cinema has confirmed it will be returning for a three-night run of its popular outdoor cinema experience at the National Trust property.

And the screenings, which run from Friday, September 22 to Sunday, September 24, will conclude with an extraordinary opportunity for Elvis fans to step into the legendary world of 'The King' himself.

The final night will see Baz Luhrmann's breathtaking new Elvis movie, which has been shattering box office records worldwide, showcased in an awe-inspiring outdoor cinema experience as part of Adventure Cinema's latest UK-wide tour.

OTHER NEWS

Organisers said: “The event will go ahead if it's raining but we are hoping for a nice dry weekend.”

The film holds a certificate 12 rating, making it suitable for viewers aged 12 and above, while under-16s must be accompanied by an adult.

What other films are they showing?

Sticking with a formula that works Adventure Cinema will be screening Mamma Mia (PG) on Friday, September 22. The musical, which features hits from Swedish group ABBA, stars Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan. Unfortunately, this event has already sold out.

But then on Saturday, September 23, delve into the magical world of Harry Potter as Adventure Cinema screens the very first of the eight films - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (PG).

What are the details?

Gates will open at 6.15pm, before the films commence shortly after sunset, at around 7.45pm.

Limited tickets are available, so it is strongly advised to secure them promptly, as demand is expected to be exceptionally high.

Picnics and drinks are welcome, but organisers ask to not to bring any glass items.

On-site toilets, including accessible facilities, will be available.

With the exception of registered assistance dogs, no animals are permitted at the event.
