A FREE event for people with arthritis and their family members is coming to Gobowen this month.

‘Arthritis Awareness’ is part of a series of events that has been hosted by Shropshire charity Community Resource in the Three Parishes area over the past year.

The session is being held at Gobowen Pavilion from 10am to 12.30pm on Wednesday, November 16 and places must be booked in advance.

Activities include a talk on pain management from Michael Delahay, Clinical Physiotherapist specialising in Rheumatology at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH).

There will also be a question and answer session and a short chair-based exercise taster.

Sue Chalk, head of service at Community Resource, said the sessions can help people with arthritis of all ages and backgrounds.

She said: "Arthritis can affect people of all ages, and while it can be challenging there are things that can be done to help with living with the condition.

“Attendees at our event will have the opportunity to listen to expert guidance from Michael, as well as the chance to try out a gentle exercise session.

"I hope people in the Three Parishes area will support this free event."
