A CAMPAIGN to introduce a 20 miles per hour speed limit onto Ellesmere's streets was taken to the town hall this week with a talk about '20s Plenty'.

The meeting, on Tuesday, October 18, was held at Ellesmere Town Hall where residents listened to speeches from long-term campaigners for a reduced speed.

The meeting was well attended by locals and councillors.

A spokesman for the town council said the event introduced the audiences to its ideas, and also thanked residents who could not attend for still passing on their views.

They said: "Ellesmere Town Council held a very positive public consultation on Tuesday evening at Ellesmere Town Hall on the '20's Plenty for us Campaign', with all present in favour of the campaign.

"They would like to thank everyone that took the time to attend, ask questions and give feedback and most importantly of all, thank you to our guest speakers Rod King and Denise M Crompton who travelled from afar to deliver their presentation.

"Thank you also to residents that were unable to attend but still took the time to email their views to us.

"We will now gauge feedback before considering our future actions.

"We really do appreciate the views of the community and feel that these events are important to reach all residents and not just those on social media, so that we can seek their views and make the differences that we are told are wanted in the community."
