LLANSANTFFRAID Football Club have appointed a new management team ahead of the new MMP-NL Mid Wales League season.
Marc Griffiths and Dan Graham join the villagers from Ardal North East League side and local rivals Llanrhaeadr following their departure from Tanllan last month.
A club spokesman welcomed the duo to the club and said: “Both come with a great pedigree in both playing and managerial experience.
“The duo have achieved great success together with Llanrhaeadr in the past in achieving their highest league position .
“We as a club are ecstatic to welcome the both and can’t wait for the season to start.”
Griffiths and Graham are no strangers to Treflan with Llanrhaeadr based at the ground while their own ground was brought up to criteria in 2019.
Graham is also a former Llansantffraid player who represented the Saints in the Mid Wales League.
The pair take over from ex-Llanrhaeadr manager Graham Evans who stepped down at the end of the season.
Griffiths said: “It’s time to wake the sleeping giant of mid Wales football. We can’t wait to get started.”
Meanwhile Graham added: “This is a project myself and Marc couldn’t turn down.
“We are over the moon to be back in football and we both aim to bring some good times back to Treflan.”
The village is famous across Welsh football for the rise and eventual merger of the football club with Oswestry Town to create TNS.
The current club was formed in 2007 to ensure the village continued to have a club after TNS moved to Oswestry.
