Miss Wrexham Galaxy, Lauren Parkinson, will be competing in the Miss Wales finals this week.

The 21-year-old from Chirk will be travelling to Park Hall in Lancashire where the Miss Galaxy Wales Finals will take place.

Lauren has been taking part in various activities throughout the year before she competes in the final on Friday.

She did the longest zip line in Europe at Zip World Velocity in Bethesda over the weekend with fellow pageant girls to raise money for the Christie Charity.

Lauren’s now almost at her target of raising £1,000.

In the run up to the finals, Lauren has been taking part as a judge at different beauty pageants, as well as visiting the residents of Chirk Court Care Home on St David’s Day to deliver daffodils and chat with them.

“It was a really nice day, and I like to think it made them happy too,” said Lauren.

For the finals of Miss Galaxy Wales, Lauren will have to go through different rounds in order to be considered for the title.

The first stage is an interview round, where she will get the opportunity to chat to the judges and impress them with her personality.

Then she will take to the stage for a bikini round, a fun fashion round and an evening wear round.

“The dress I’m wearing for the evening wear round was made by a Turkish designer, and is the only one of its kind in the UK – so that makes it extra special.”

Lauren, who works at McArdles butchers in Chirk, is still hoping to smash her £1,000 charity target.

Her sponsor, Millennium Hair in Chirk, has a sponsorship form and charity box for any donations that people wish to make.
