Lewis bringing a fresh new look to town centre signs

A window cleaner is giving some TLC – tender, loving care – to town-centre signs.

Lewis Turner, of Window Fresh, started the trend by giving the ‘Welcome to Oswestry’ sign on the Racecourse Road a little spruce up last week – and his efforts were quickly praised by residents.

He said: “I work predominantly in Oswestry and Welshpool, and I visit a few properties around that way.

“I had a few minutes to spare so I thought I would give it a clean. I figured it was something that needed to be done.”

The post on Facebook featuring ‘before and after’ shots of the sign included: “Sometimes the smallest things make the biggest difference...

“We had a spare few minutes and couldn’t help but notice this sign was in need of a little bit of Window Fresh TLC. Just our way of saying thank you!”

Residents were quick to praise his sense of community spirit.

Lewis continued: “It was surprising how many people appreciated it and how much pride they have in their town.

“It’s nice to take pride in the places I work. It wasn’t the first sign I had cleaned, just the first I had photographed and put online.”

He is now asking anyone else who knows of any signs that need some TLC to contact him.

He added: “I’ve had a few people get in touch and when I’m in Oswestry I will be visiting them to see what I can do.”
