Police are appealing for information after a car which is believed to have clipped a tractor and ended up in a hedge near Oswestry.

The incident on the road between Queen’s Head and Rednal last Tuesday [DEL Nov 22] just after 4pm left two men, travelling in the black Vauxhall Corsa, with head injuries.

The driver of the red tractor was uninjured.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “Officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone who witnessed it or saw the vehicles, and the manner in which they were being driven, before the collision occurred.

"They are also keen to speak to the driver of a blue Renault Megane, which was seen in the area at the time of the incident.”

The driver of the car - a man in his 30s - suffered head and chest injuries and was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital. A passenger - also a man in his 30s - was treated for a cut to his head at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

Paramedics used an online translation tool to communicate with the men in the car as they were Bulgarian and didn’t understand English.

Anyone with information is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers number quoting incident 055S of November 22.
