Staff reporter (Border Counties)

A PERSONAL trainer from an Oswestry gym has set herself a sporting challenge to help local terminally ill children.
Hollie Johnson, 21, who works at the Coach House Gym based at the Wynnstay Hotel will be taking part in the Chester Half Marathon on Sunday, May 17 to raise funds for Hope House Children’s Hospices.
This is the first running challenge that Hollie has ever taken part in and her training has already begun in earnest.
In the build-up to her challenge supporters are encouraged to call into the gym to guess how long they think it will take Hollie to complete her challenge for a £1 donation to Hope House.
The winner will receive a free three-month membership at the gym and everyone who enters will be rewarded with a free guest pass.
If you would like to take part in your own sporting challenge, Hope House are looking for supporters to take part in a number of sporting challenges from half marathons to triathlons.
Supporters are asked to register with Hope House and commit to raising a minimum of £100 in sponsorship. In return they will receive a free limited edition running vest and support on the day.
If supporters have already registered for these events, they can still commit to raising the minimum sponsorship in return for a free limited edition running vest.
The events include: Chester Half Marathon, Shrewsbury Half Marathon, Chirk Castle Half Marathon, North Wales Half Marathon, Shrewsbury Sprint Triathlon, Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon, Farndon 10K and Conwy Half Marathon.
Anyone wishing to take part in any other sporting challenge, can sign up direct with the event organisers, commit to raising £100 for Hope House and also receive their free limited edition running vest.
Area fundraiser, Lynsey Kilvert said: “Sign up today for sporting challenges and help raise money for Hope House.
Challenge yourself for the children and the money you raise will help provide vital support to terminally ill children and families in your local area.”
