MP Owen Paterson has backed the Advertizer’s Hope House fundraising challenge, describing the charity’s work as “amazing”.

The Advertizer is campaigning to raise as much money as possible for Hope House throughout 2015 and in an attempt to boost donations the North Shropshire MP is offering two people the chance to win a a tour of the House of Commons, including lunch.

He said: “Hope House is a wonderful charity which does amazing work with families locally.

“It is great that the Advertizer has signed up to the Hope House Children’s Hospice business challenge and I wish them every success with their fundraising efforts.”

How do I place a bid for the House of Commons tour?
OVER the next four weeks you will have the chance to take part in a silent auction, simply buy a copy of the Advertizer and fill in the form on page six (complete with your highest bid) and send it to: Silent Auction, Oswestry and Border Counties Advertizer, 16-18 Oswald Road, Oswestry, SY11 1RE.
The silent auction will end on Tuesday, March 17 and the person offering to pay the most for the House of Commons tour will be contacted shortly afterwards.

How can I get involved?
It costs a staggering £700 to ensure 24 hours of care is provided for a terminally ill child at Hope House, and without Government funding the organisation relies on generous gifts and donations.

So please get involved and join the Advertizer in raising funds for Hope House.
The list of fundraising ideas are endless and we will help you every step of the way through pre-publicity and coverage during and after your event.

As well as this, simply contact the Hope House fundraising team on 01691 671671 and they too will help you with your plans.

Once you have decided on how you are going to raise funds give one of our reporters a call on 01691 655321 and we will help promote whatever it is you are planning.

Once the money raised has been calculated you can either present the cheque to us at the office or donate online via our Just Giving webpage by visiting

Another way of donating to the cause without moving anything more than a few fingers and your thumb is to text BCAC84 followed by £1, £3, £5 or £10 to 70070.
