Man attacked with metal bar in Oswestry

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in Oswestry last Friday (Aug 22).

The incident happened between 11.30am and 12.30pm at Coney Green Park near the old railway track. 

 
The victim, a 24 year-old man, was approached by two men who attacked him with a metal bar. They then searched the victim’s pockets and stole his mobile phone. He was left with significant facial injuries requiring hospital treatment. 

The two offenders are thought to be in their early to mid 30s, both of a broad build and around six foot tall. One of them was wearing a brown parka jacket with blue jeans. 

Sergeant Lee Holehouse said: "This offence is being taken very seriously and a thorough investigation is underway. Police are keen to hear from any witnesses to the robbery and anyone who may be able to offer information to help us identity the offenders."
