Use or lose it call from OsFest organisers

ORGANISERS behind OsFest music festival have urged people to get behind the event or face losing it.

In a statement following the 2014 event, the OsFest team said they welcomed the positive feedback and support they had received, but added they need bigger audiences to survive.
The event was postponed in May just weeks before its usual date of the Spring Bank Holiday, instead taking place last week.
The statement said: “After the unavoidable issues we have faced this year it would be the easiest decision in the world to never run OsFest again.

“The positive comments we receive make us feel it is worthwhile and want to continue .
“OsFest needs bigger audiences to survive so please spread the word and get behind it or sadly Oswestry may lose one of its very few major event assets.”
They also apologised after some acts, including popstar Conor Maynard and diva Paloma Faith, pulled out of the event.

The statement added: “As we are sure you know it hasn’t been the easiest year with a few artists withdrawing from the festival due to illness at rather late notice.
“This unfortunately is totally beyond our control and at such late notice it proved impossible to find suitable replacements.”
