THE legacy of furniture maker Peter Vidal will continue, according to those based at his busy Oswestry gallery.

The celebrated craftsman who made several pieces for celebrities and Royalty, as well as opening the thriving Willow Gallery in Oswestry, died last month at the age of 62.

A spokesperson for the Willow Street gallery said: “Peter never ceased to inspire and work for the success of the gallery despite failing health due to a Parkinsons type condition. Peter’s drive and enthusiasm will be greatly missed and we will continue to keep his legacy thriving under the directorship of his brother John Vidal.”

A celebration of his life is due to be held at Our Lady and St Oswald Catholic Church in Oswestry on Monday (August 11), while a book of condolence is currently open at the gallery.

The spokesperson added: “The tributes being written are a statement of how much Peter was respected and thought so highly of during his life. He helped so many people of all ages and talents to follow their dreams like he did.”
