CHIRK’S new look Post Office has been officially opened.
Clwyd South AM Ken Skates was on hand to cut the ribbon and mark the launch of the new branch which is based in the Spar store on Church Street.
It follows the move of the Post Office from its previous location on Colliery Road.
Mr Skates said: “I was delighted to have been asked to open the new Chirk Post Office, which I am confident will continue providing the first-class services the public have come to expect.”
The refurbished store now has longer opening hours from 7am to 11pm seven days a week and includes a full range of Post Office services.
Martyn Pinfold, who was subpostmaster at the previous location for over 10 years, has remained with the Post Office through the move and continues to work at the branch.
Mr Skates added: “I’d like to wish Jo Sharples (Spar manager) and Martyn Pinfold every success for their future working relationship, and look forward to seeing them continue to prosper.”
