A WOMAN who channelled her grief into a glorious garden shed has been shortlisted for a major competition.

Alison Kynaston Jones, of St Martins, has been recognised in Channel 4’s Amazing Spaces Shed of the Year for her Caribbean-inspired creation which will feature on TV on Thursday evening.

Delighted by the news, Alison, an international psychic intuitive and holistic life coach, revealed the little oasis had been a place of sanctuary for her since her late husband, Kim’s sudden death in January.

She said: “I didn’t design the shed for the show but I’d love to win because it would  be great to donate the £1,000 prize to Macmillan Cancer Support, their forum for bereaved spouses really helped me.”

The show, which next airs on Channel 4 on Thursday, at 8pm, promises viewers they will ‘never view the humble garden shed in the same light again’.

“Some of the entries are incredibly ingenious, there’s even one in the shape of a 30-foot teapot,” the 57-year-old explained.

“It’s just a great way to show what people can do.”
