A GLOBAL motorsport event is returning to the region.
Wales Rally GB will descend on Chirk Castle for the second year in a row in November following the success of 2013’s relocation to North Wales.
Organisers hope to welcome thousands more to the event that attracted
a record number of spectators between November 13-16 last year.
The Wales Rally GB marks the final round of the FIA World Rally Championship, with all participating teams and drivers setting up their base at the service park on Deeside Industrial Estate
.
Drivers will battle it out over 23 competitive special stages totalling 191.27 miles, which includes a family-friendly RallyFest held at Chirk Castle.
Such was the popularity of last year’s stages at Chirk Castle, the number of spectators trying to access the venue created serious traffic and other issues.
In response, organisers have created a new traffic management system, increased parking and enhanced spectator facilities.
Admittance this year will be by advance ticket only, helping to control numbers and assist with event planning.
Access to the Deeside Service Park will be free but World Rally passes are now on sale at £99 and will provide access to all 23 special stages, including RallyFest at Chirk Castle..
