TRIBUTES have been paid to a young man who was found dead in a wood near Oswestry.
Christopher James Davies, 20, from the Oswestry area, was found in woodland between Morda and Trefonen, at approximately 1.15am on Tuesday, March 11.
Dozens of tributes flooded into a memorial Facebook page set up by his father Karl throughout last week, as well as hundreds of ‘likes’ by friends and family.
He said: “I am so glad to see so many people who knew my son.”
Mr Davies’ mother, Simone Peppermüller, wrote: “RIP son we will miss you.
“You left a big space in our heart and we will fill it with all the good memories we got. Love you and will never forget you.”

Other messages included comments from Chris Benkoff, who wrote “RIP Chris. You were a great friend and a caring guy. You will be missed a lot. Proud to say you were my friend. My condolences to your family.”
Connor Ridge, commented “RIP Chris. You always made people smile and laugh especially when they were down. ”
Floral tributes were also left on the bridge across the River Morda between Croeswylan Road and Trefonen Road, close to where Mr Davies’ body was discovered by police.
One from his family said: “Forever in our thoughts. Love you Chris, Uncle Wayne, Aunty Tracey, Charlene, Daryl and Kelly.”
Mr Davies had attended The Marches School in Oswestry and Walford and North Shropshire College where he studied animal care and management.
Andrew Tyley, college principal, said: “Chris was a very likeable young man who made lots of friends during his short spell at Walford.
“Staff and students have fond memories of Chris and we were all very sad to hear of his tragic death.
“Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this difficult time.”
An inquest was opened yesterday (Monday) morning by Shropshire Coroner, Mr John Ellery, sitting at Bridgnorth Council Chamber, and was adjourned until May 14.
Police last week said they are investigating the circumstances but nobody else is believed to involved.
