More than £2,000 neeed for school heating system

A PRE-SCHOOL needs to raise more than £2,000 to fund a new heating system.
Ellesmere Ducklings, based on the Ellesmere Primary School site, needs £2,659 to cover costs after the unit broke down in December.
For two weeks floor heaters were used until the heating was fixed.
So far nearly half has been raised. Stan’s Superstore in St Martins and Fullwood in Ellesmere donated £300 each, while Lakelands Academy held a teachers versus pupils netball match.
The local Spar store held a ‘Name the Teddy’ competition and raised £180, and has been match funded to make £360.
A 70’s and 80’s disco was also held, raising £965.
Ducklings manager Karen Humphreys said: “Lots of people have taken up fundraising themselves.

“Welshampton School, Criftins and Ellesmere Primary School held a non-uniform day to raise money and we held a wear a hat day at Ducklings to keep warm.
“We were raising money to repair our roof in October and then this happened, so we still need to fundraise for roof work too.”
Past and present Duckling parents Amanda Jones and Gemma New are taking part in the Market Drayton 10k in May. To donate to the runners email or visit the Ducklings Pre-school to donate.
