Motorists warned to keep keys out of sight

MOTORISTS in Chester are being warned to keep their keys out of sight in their homes after a spate of car thefts last weekend.

Cheshire Police have warned vehicle owners in Mickle Trafford and Norley after three cars were stolen in the area.

Thieves broken into a house in Warrington Road, Mickle Trafford, on Saturday, February 20, and one in Blakemere Lane, Norley, on Sunday, February 21.

The house in Mickle Trafford was targeted between 3pm and 4pm when thieves stole a blue 56 plate BMW from the driveway after keys were taken from the house.
 

Two cars - a grey 07 plate BMW convertible and a silver 06 plate Land Rover Discovery -were stolen from the property in Norley sometime between 12.30pm and 9.20pm on Sunday, February 21.

Police are asking residents to ensure they keep their front doors locked, even if they are in the house and keep car keys out of sight of windows and doors.
