Bomb disposal officers were on hand to safely detonate a reported Second World War German stick hand grenade yesterday.
The grenade was safely disposed of on land behind Brownlow Street at around 2.30pm on Thursday.
Residents were told to stay safely away from the controlled explosion, but it was caught on a number of cameraphones.
The grenade was heavily packed in the middle of sacks before sending them into the air.
