There are only nine days left for people to vote for their Patient Choice Award winner at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital.

The accolade will be presented at the Oswestry-based hospital’s annual awards ceremony, the Celebration of Achievement Awards, at the Lion Quays Hotel in November.

There are 17 categories in total, recognising individuals and teams from all across the specialist orthopaedic hospital, but the Patient Choice Award is the only one where the public can have their say.

More than 30 nominations were submitted and a shortlisting panel decided the final four who are:

• Ffion Evans, physiotherapist on Alice Ward, the dedicated children’s ward

• Pete Gallacher, consultant orthopaedic surgeon

• Clare Jones, theatre support worker

• Belinda Potts, healthcare assistant on the Midlands Centre for Spinal Injuries

Mark Brandreth, chief executive, said: “We have amazing people here at the Orthopaedic and it’s vital we take time on occasions to recognise our achievements, and celebrate them.

“It’s also important our patients are involved in this process, which is why we included the Patient Choice Award as part of the evening.

“I always say we have the best staff in the NHS and the Patient Choice Award really reiterates that for me – I’d like to say huge congratulations to everyone who was nominated.

“Our four shortlisted finalists are all very worthy of winning this award. So far over 800 people have had their say and I would encourage patients and members of the public to read the nominations and vote for your winner.”

Full nominations and the voting page can be found at www.rjah.nhs.uk/vote. Voting will close midnight on Sunday October 14.
