Ellesmere town councillors are encouraging residents to take part in a survey regarding local transport.

Shropshire Council is developing its fourth Local Transport Plan and is asking people to complete a survey to help them gain a fuller picture of people’s transport needs.

From public transport to pot-holes, parking and pricing, transport issues are a widely-debated topic.

Mayor of Ellesmere, Cllr Ryan Hartley, said: “Good transport provision is essential not only for drivers and users of public transport, but for pedestrians and cyclists too. This is an opportunity to have your say and tell Shropshire Council what improvements you would like to see. I would encourage you to complete the survey.”

Shropshire Councillor Ann Hartley told the councillors the survey was important to the people of Ellesmere.

"It's a use it or lose it situation," she said.

"The council will listen to the consultations and this is really important to the people of Ellesmere."

The survey closes on October 31 and can be found at www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Shropshire-LTP4-survey
