The team behind Ellesmere in Bloom are looking for volunteers to help them plant out this year’s winter pansies around the town.
The group are responsible for numerous planters in Ellesmere including the flower-filled boat at the bottom of Love Lane.
This summer the attractive displays of begonias have been appreciated by locals and visitors alike and help to attract more people to the town.
John Frost, chairman of Ellesmere in Bloom, said: “Having planters filled with beautiful flowers is good for the local economy and encourages people to visit Ellesmere.
“We hope that local people will want to support our community by helping with our planting twice a year, in the autumn and the spring. We are expecting a delivery of plug plants from Jersey any day now. Anyone who can spare a couple of hours this autumn will receive a very warm welcome.”
Financial support comes via a small grant from the Town Council and sponsorship by local businesses and by individuals in memory of loved ones. Planters are available for sponsorship and the sponsor’s name will be displayed on a plaque.
Those who are interested in supporting the project but are not able to help with the planting, can volunteer as fundraisers or committee members.
