A GROUP that gets children involved with community activities has held its first meeting.
Pupils from Our Lady and St Oswald's RC Primary School have formed a RotaKids group with help from headteacher Nikki O'Dwyer and Oswestry Rotary Club.
Usually based in schools and supported by their teachers and a Rotary Club, RotaKids can gain experience in helping others and learning new skills while supporting the citizenship element of the National Curriculum.
Their first event was support Jeans for Genes Day, which helps vulnerable children living with genetic disorders.
Oswestry Rotary Club's Justin Soper said: "This is a wonderful start for our new RotaKids Group. Watch this space for news of more of their activities later in the year!"
